Central Valley FAME

FRESNO, CA – 10/30/2024 – Betts Company is proud to be a founding member of the newly launched Central Valley FAME (Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education) Chapter, the first of its kind in California and the only chapter west of the Rockies.

FAME is a nationally recognized workforce development program operated by the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) Manufacturing Institute. The Central Valley Chapter combines technical instruction with hands-on experience to prepare students for high-demand careers as skilled maintenance technicians.

The chapter’s launch was announced at the 9th annual Valley Made Summit, hosted by the San Joaquin Valley Manufacturing Alliance (SJVMA). This milestone reflects a strong regional commitment to addressing the workforce needs of the local manufacturing industry.

“We are excited to help bring the FAME model to the Central Valley,” said Joe Devany, Vice President of Manufacturing at Betts Company. “This program is

not only about developing real-world skills it is about investing in the future of manufacturing and creating meaningful opportunities for people in our community.”

The Central Valley FAME Chapter is supported by a coalition of manufacturers, educators, and community partners. Together, they are creating training pathways that offer both academic instruction and real-world experience.

Betts Company’s involvement in this initiative reflects its long-standing commitment to innovation, workforce development, and strengthening the future of American manufacturing.
