Manufacturing Cluster held training for Central Valley Educators

Betts Company, a member of the Manufacturing Cluster, held a training session for the Central Valley educators. Over twenty Community College and High School Administrator and Faculty learned about Lean Manufacturing and Workplace Safety.

“We are passionate about what we do at Betts Company and we are thankful to have educators like you in our community committed to Improving The Way Things Move too” said Bill Betts, President of Betts Company.  

“Advanced Manufacturing – 101, Central Valley” is an initiative whose purpose is to create a Community of Practice and work together with education to improve Advanced Manufacturing Education in the Central Valley to develop a highly educated and skilled workforce for the Manufacturing Sector and other industry sector employers with similar skilled workforce requirements.

“It is key for our students to follow the work-based learning process that begins with the career awareness, followed by career exploration, career preparation, and career training. However, it is even more important for our Community College and High School Administrators and Faculty to develop relationships with local manufacturers and learn their workforce education and skill requirements, and Advanced Manufacturing 101 – Central Valley initiative is designed to provide exactly that,” said  Gurminder Sangha, Deputy Sector Navigator – Advanced Manufacturing.

“Manufacturers like Betts Company, are key to creating success in the community. Mike Betts, CEO, Betts Company who is also the Chair of the Manufacturing cluster is an asset for our Fresno Community. He is fully committed and leading the efforts of creating a world class Career Technical Education Ecosystem,”  said Gurminder Sangha.
